Blackboard European User's Conference, 9th-10th May 2006

We had a poster on display at the 2006 "BbWorld Europe" Blackboard European User's Conference in Edinburgh. here it is (PDF, 901KB).

Second Dissemination Event, 29th March 2006

We held our second dissemination event on 29th March in Newcastle. This event focussed on the technical issues surrounding Shibboleth adoption, usage and maintenance.

HEA Technical Awayday, February 2006

Jon Dowland gave a 30 minute presentation entitled Authentication and Authorization to the Higher Education Academy's Technical Away day at King's College, London on 24th February.

JISC core middleware programme meeting, November 2005

At the autumn JISC core middleware meeting in Windermere, Jon Dowland and Cal Racey gave a presentation with the following synopsis:

The IAMSECT project will be drawing from their experiences over the past year to describe the "road ahead" for early adopters projects. This will include a look at some of the misconceptions and technical pitfalls encountered along the way; but also how the infrastructure opens up opportunities for further inter-institutional collaborations.

Institutional Web Management Workshop, 7th July 2005

Jon Dowland facilitiated a workshop session entitled Shibboleth: Myths, Lies and the Truth at the Institutional Web Management Workshop 2005, which took place in Manchester. A writeup and slides are available.

Newcastle SSO presentation, 7th June 2005

Cal recently gave a presentation to members of the University of Newcastle to outline the webteam's work on implementing SSO, Shibboleth and explaining how content providers could prepare for it. Powerpoint (2.1MB), PDF (627K) slides available.

JISC core middleware programme meeting, 17th May 2005

York meeting, 4th May 2005

On Wednesday 4th May 2005 representatives from the Iamsect project travelled to York to discuss Shibboleth technology with representatives from York and Hull universities. A summary of these discussions, questions, answers and slides are available.

First Dissemination Event, 17th March 2005

We held our first all-day dissemination event on 17th March in Newcastle. This event was strictly non-technical and was aimed primarily at librarians and further education institutions.

Durham Blackboard Presentation, December 2004

Two members of the IAMSECT project performed a 10 minute presentation about Shibboleth and the IAMSECT project at the 5th Annual Durham Blackboard Conference. Besides promoting IAMSECT, this presentation provided us with an opportunity to gauge people's opinions and determine the impact of Shibboleth across a variety of sectors.
